Mind-Body-Spirit Wellness                  Emotional Health- key to vibrant healing

Our physical, mental/emotional, and spiritual health can increase our well-being and create a more balanced healthy life. Most of us think of a detox or cleanse as a physical experience. We limit or remove impurities, quit smoking, limit alcohol, fast and processed food, or eat a “clean” diet with lots of fruits and vegetables. While these are important for health, our negative emotions can increase reactions to fear, worry, anger, doubt, envy, jealousy; increase anxiety and put obstacles on our path for a happy, balanced, fulfilled life. When we are unable to process our emotions, they can become toxic, wreak havoc on the body, cause diseases and cause harm to ourselves and others. Daily emotional cleansing is necessary in our stress-filled modern world. Stress may be a contributing factor to up to 90% of all diseases, as modern science is now validating.

There are many ways to clear emotions in-order-to detox and bring balance back to life. First, we must “name and claim” what we feel; and second, we must “feel it to heal it.” In other words, emotions are stored in our bodies, in our cells and connective tissue. Daily journaling and an experienced psychotherapist are a good start for trauma and emotional support.

Other ways to support your journey can be found in the Emotional Detox book by author Sherianne Boyle, adjunct psychology professor and certified yoga instructor. She developed a daily practice called C.L.E.A.N.S.E.   Here are some key points:

C- Clear (past trauma)

L- Look Inward (quiet the mind and look inward to evaluate feelings)

E-Emit (emit positive energy with thoughts)

A-Activate Joy (joy is our natural being-practice gratitude)

N-Nourish (good daily self-care is the key)

S- Surrender (let go of things you cannot control)

E- Ease (start life fresh daily-the beginner’s mind)

Sherianne offers lots of sound advice and good tips to live a more intentional, joy-filled, loving life- a reset for the soul.
